We are very happy to announce that PHYSMOD2024 will take place at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon (ECL) from August 28th to August 30th, 2024.

PHYSMOD (International Workshop on Physical Modelling of Flow and Dispersion Phenomena) provides a forum where the most recent advances in flow and dispersion modeling, state-of-the-art in experimental work, and newly emerging research areas are discussed in an open-minded and friendly atmosphere. One of the main purposes is to encourage broader collaboration between researchers and transfer knowledge between the laboratories as well as generations. We will be very happy to welcome students to present their work and incorporate them into our community.

The conference will include the visit of installations of the Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics Laboratory (LMFA), on the ECL campus.

Themes

We invite and warmly welcome contributions from various domains related to atmospheric flow modeling and dispersion processes, encouraging the sharing of valuable experiences. Sessions will encompass, but are not limited to, the following topics:

  • Atmospheric boundary layer

  • Flow and dispersion in the built environement

  • Transient properties and buoyancy effects of dispersion processes

  • Validation of numerical and analytical models

  • A synergy of physical modeling and field measurements

  • Quality assurance and improvement of experimental techniques

  • OOP - Obnoxious Operational Problems
